Gannon University Courses and Degrees Available Locally

Gannon University is offering courses at the Coudersport and Port Allegany offices of the Education Council, as well as 11 additional locations throughout northwest and north central Pennsylvania.

Courses offered for spring 2017 semester include: Foundations of the Business Enterprise, Principles of Accounting II, Marketing in the Global Environment, Psychology of Human Development, Environmental Issues, Principles of Macroeconomics, The Protestant Tradition, Introduction to Psychology, Introduction to Sacred Scripture, and Critical Analysis and Composition.

This program is perfect for adults interested in earning a college degree, residents who feel college is too expensive to be an option, individuals who want a second chance at college, and eligible high school students who want to earn college credits at a reduced rate.

Classes meet in the evening, and it’s an affordable, convenient way to earn an associate degree or take general education courses close to home. At $180/credit for adults, tuition for this program is heavily reduced, approximately the same as out of county tuition for most PA Community Colleges. Additional tuition discounts are available for eligible high school students interested in dual enrollment. Their tuition is only $33/credit.

Through an innovative partnership with Gannon University and the Education Consortium of the Upper Allegheny (ECUA), the Education Council is offering residents of Potter and McKean County access to two associate degree programs. Full time students can choose from an Associate of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies or an Associate of Science in Business Administration and can complete their degrees in as little as two years. If you are not interested in an associate degree at this time, you can choose the course or courses you need for personal or professional development or take courses to transfer towards a degree program at another regional college or university.

The registration deadline for spring 2016 semester is January 2, 2017, and classes start January 9th. For more information or to register, contact Janine Morley at (814) 274-4877 or janine@pottercountyedcouncil.org or Jocelyn Hamilton.Bash at (814) 603-1229 or jhamilton.bash@ecuapa.org.
