Hills Creek announces improvements requiring trail closures.

Work is underway to replace the bridge over Tauscher’s Stream in Hills Creek State Park. Due to this, the road that connects the day use and campground areas of the park is closed.

The timing of this project is set to avoid the camping season. Additionally, work continues nearby on the addition of full-hookup campsites and includes water line work.

Due to both of these projects, park users should note that a portion of the Lake Side Trail is closed (without a detour and requiring an out and back hike option only). Additionally, the Yellow Birch Trail is closed entirely due to its proximity to the work site. The Tauscher’s Trail loop continues to remain open.

Park maps are available online or at the park office. Additional information will be available on the park’s Facebook page and will include updates on the project timeline and expected completion.

The current projected completion is set for late December 2016. Call the park with any additional questions at 570-724-4246.
