James H. Craig, Jr.

James H. Craig, Jr., 89, 1067 W. Washington St., Bradford, PA,  passed away Thursday, November 3, 2016 in the Pavilion at Bradford Regional Medical Center.

Born August 13, 1927 in Rixford he was a son of James H. and Arlene Carpenter Craig. He was married to the former Barbara Mae Linane who died June 11, 1998. On June 24, 2000 in St Bernard Church he married the former Betty Remington who survives.

Mr. Craig worked at National Fuel as a lineman retiring in 1982; he then worked for Werzalit as a driver and Desoto Motel as maintenance man. He was an avid bowler and hunter and played in the band Western Dynamics for several years. 

WWII Veteran

He was a veteran of the US Navy serving during WWII and had boxed in the navy. He was a member of Eagles Aerie #2432 and a lifetime member of VFW Post #212 and American Legion #108 both of Bradford. He was also a 32 degree Free Mason and a member of the Orak Grotto.

Surviving besides his wife are 7 sons; Michael Holly of Bradford, Daniel Holly of Louisiana, Christopher Craig of Butler, Chad (Vicki) Craig of Pittsburgh, Jeff Craig of Texas , Thomas Craig and Bradley Craig both of Bradford, 3 stepdaughters; Renee (Brian) Dolan of York, Kelly Jo Remington of Grand Island, NY and Karen (Scott) Ordiway of Bradford, several grandchildren including Tyler and Julia Craig of Pittsburgh and Dani and Alix Ordiway of Bradford, 2 sisters; Becky Weister of Arizona and Sylvia Gulher of Machias, NY, 4 brothers; Michael (Donna) Craig of Clarks Summit, Patrick Craig of Moberly, MO, Brian (Kathy) Craig of Bakersfield, CA and Dwight Craig of Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be private. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Mascho Funeral Home, 75 Kennedy St. Bradford, PA 16701.

Memorials, if desired may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
