Hebron Center Christian School will be hosting an “All You Can Eat Dinner” featuring Spaghetti & Meatballs or Chicken & Biscuits with a choice of vegetable and numerous choices of dessert…..It will be held at the Hebron Center Christian School in the gymnasium on Tuesday, April 25th, 2017……..Suggested Donations for the dinner are as follows: Seniors- $6.50, Adults and Youth 12-18- $8.00, Students Under 12- $6.00, Children 5 and under-FREE!........Family Rate-$25.00….. Time will be from 4:00-7:30 p.m. The Hebron Center Christian School students hosting this dinner will be attending the annual ACE International Student Convention at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania (IUP)……. ALL proceeds will benefit these students…………A bake sale will also be on the site.

Jean L. Benn Carlson, 97, of Galeton, PA

Jean L. Benn Carlson, 97, of Galeton, PA died Monday, November 14, 2016 in the Skilled Nursing & Rehab Unit at Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport, PA. 

Born September 5, 1919 in Sabinsville, PA, she was a daughter of the late Fred D. and Mirenda (Schott) Benn. On April 29, 1947 in Arnot, PA, she married Leonard Carlson who preceded her in death in 1990. 

Jean worked as a welder at the Sun Shipbuilding & Drydock Company near Philadelphia, PA during WWII, and then at Smith of Galeton Gloves and Martin’s General Store in Galeton. 

However, Jean was a homemaker for most of her life. She enjoyed preparing meals for family gatherings and one of her biggest priorities was having her family together. 

Jean was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting baby blankets, doing various crafts and bowling. 

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Galeton and a past member of the Goodyear Hose Auxiliary. 

Surviving are a son, Frank (Nancy) Carlson, Galeton; a daughter, Kathy (John) Nordquist, Coudersport; a son-in-law, Laurence Bailey, Galeton; seven grandchildren, Eric Bailey, Kristin Martuccio, Kevin Bailey, Joshua Nordquist, Nicole McCutcheon, Benn Carlson, and Mary Wimer; ten great grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Agnes Lechler, Galeton; and several nieces and nephews. 

In addition to her husband, Jean was predeceased by a daughter, JoAnn Bailey, in 2005, and all four of her siblings, John Benn, Florence Doyle, Fred Benn, Jr., and Marjorie (Nelson) Berwaldt. 

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Wednesday, November 16, 2016 from 5-7p.m. and on Thursday, November 17, 2016 from 10-11a.m. at St.Paul’s Lutheran Church, Galeton. Funeral Services will follow at 11:00a.m. with the Rev. Tom Shatto officiating. Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Galeton. 

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cole Foundation at Cole Memorial Hospital, 1001 East Second St., Coudersport, PA 16915 or to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Galeton.
