PORT ALLEGANY EVACUATION EXTENDED

The Chlorine Gas leak in Port Allegany Borough has been contained, and residents and businesses which were evacuated can return to their homes.

Just wanted to update that the leak is stopped and they are starting to return people to their homes. My boyfriend is in the fire department on Port Allegany and gave me the update.

AT 9:55 AM--THE EVACUATION IN PORT ALLEGANY HAS BEEN EXTENDED TO CHURCH STREET AND FROM ARNOLD AVENUE TO THE BOROUGH LINE.

ROULETTE HAS BEEN DISPATCHED WITH 2 AMBULANCES TO ASSIST WITH THE EVACUATION.
Solomons Words for the Wise We have received a comment on Solomon's words that the evacuation has been cancelled as the chlorine leak has been stopped. This is an anonymous comment. Can someone confirm this?

I live on Main St near Napa. Nobody ever came to my house. Hope all is fine now

Does anyone know if this could be affecting the water? Or who can be contacted about it?

Bigger more important question is what is this stuff and where did it come from...the cause?

I live passed napa across from dg, they came to our house to evacuate us, then came back seconds later to let us know it was cancelled and we were okay to stay at home just use caution with water.

Shouldn't the fire department or borough make the announcement, not the girlfriend of a fireman???

Anonymous said...

What does that mean, "Use caution with water"? Don't drink it, Don't bath in it, What?

Anonymous said...

EXACTLY! Within minutes, several news sites were reporting based on what some girl said!

Anonymous said...

It MIGHT have a higher chlorine count than normal. If you are sensitive to it you may want to use caution.

Water treatment

I just called the borough office because I live on Pearl Street and they said there are NO concerns about the water. I suggest checking such things before posting them on here, inciting panic.

Everything looked normal when I was over town at 10:30, the Post office and grocery store were open. They didn't evacuate the plant, of coarse the plant wouldn't even tell people they were in danger. Gotta keep the lines moving.

Still haven't heard a cause or where it came from for that matter

I think that fire and ambulance and such are under some type of clause they are NOT TO GIVE OUT INFORMATION on things ... and if they aren't they should be this is just how shit gets started an how people told so an so is dead before family knows.. yes they do a good job but some one is taking pixs and sending to girlfriends THIS IS SO WRONG ems stop this take the cell phones away from the emergency no matter what kind it is you have radios to contact 911 and your department

I'm going to go get tested just in case. Can't be too careful.

May want to get your head examined.
