It's more likely that Sabrina buys her groceries at TOPS rather than a movement spreading.

Deplorables At there best thanks Trump cause that's what God wanted what a joke now they are in your front yard good luck

Don't think it's fair to blame this on Ulysses, as the headline suggests. Unfortunately white supremacy is in a lot of places.

Anonymous said...

OK is there proof Sabrina was involved in this? Newsflash Wellsville is so full of racists you wouldn't believe it its not fair to blame Ulysses for this

Anonymous said...

Wow!!!
Ya all looking for a fight from Sabrina, I hope she's smarter than you so called adults n doesn't retaliate.........

Anonymous said...

Thanks to those who painted over the vandalism. Looks good.

Jim....I am from Ulysses and I demand that you change the title of this article. You have absolutely no proof that this was perpetrated by anyone in Ulysses, Pa and BS like this is very much unneeded in this day and age. It's a shame that this happened in Wellsville and nice to see someone painting over it, but you shouldn't post information that you have no proof of.

Solomon's words for the wise said...

Ulysses has historically and recently, noted in newspapers around the world, been a hotbed of the white supremacy movement. People from your community have recently promoted the white supremacy movement on the Pennsylvania Capitol steps in Harrisburg. The headline does not accuse anyone from Ulysses of doing this act of vandalism. It only notes, like a disease, that the movement has spread to nearby community.

Anonymous said...

And it goes along with Jims liberal agenda. Love the news blog and you do a good job with it. I am not attacking you for being liberal just pointing out that you do have an agenda and it does frequently come across in your reporting. I'm a big boy and can look past that so keep up the good work.

Woa........Potter County Law Dog,
Who do you think you are ????
You DEMAND Jim, WOW your lucky Jim is as nice as he is, You wouldn't be DEMANDING me bubba, you for one is Just one example why kids act the way they do, obviously you show NO RESPECT & apparently you have none EITHER !!!!!!!

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt, it's nice that someone sees we aren't out to harm anyone, we just want our right to believe in what we want

Thank you Jim for this opportunity, and your comments that most of us surely agree with. Wishing you well, and share of this site daily- job done well and fairly.
We have freedom of speech, and i know many proud white American citizens.
With us stand those of other race, color, creed who are also proud Americans.
Like any family, friend or neighbor, we do not agree on everything. We know you cannot always blame others,as none of us are perfect. I am so thankful to know there is certainly a high percentage of folks, like us,who cannot relate to those few who have so much hatred and prejudice. And I do not feel safe to even think of being near those like Mrs Burnside. .We live in the land of free and brave, but I wonder how Mrs B deals with school system.Embarrassed for her with "bring it on" comments. If she has outside job, pray for her coworkers, too. Blessings to all, Anne from Galeton area.

My point is simply this. You have absolutely no proof that this was even done by anyone involved in the "white Supremacy" movement as you call it. It could just as easily been done by some hair-brained kids with a spray can. I have lived in Ulysses for decades and believe me....having a handful of outspoken Nationalists DOES NOT make the place a "hotbed" for anything . As you have now shown, your agenda is becoming the same biased opinion that each and every other public news source has become. You are now no better than Fox News or CNN in your news reporting. By the way....stating that the white supremacy movement spreads "from" Ulysses to Wellsville IS accusing the source of this as being from Ulysses. Having several family's beliefs turned into a hotbed is absolutely ludicrous.

Sabrina Burnside said...

My job is my 7 children, I'm not embarrassed by anything I do, nor do I regret anything, most of the people involved in my children's education are supportive of our freedom to choose what we believe, except for a few teachers who think they are Jesus and are saving my kids by meddling, but their time will come and they will know that they where wrong, but I do have to salute you for at least publishing your name to your beliefs and opinion,

Anonymous said...

I agree with Potter County Law Dog. This is the kind if news reporting that leads to false impressions. I also live in Ulysses, and one families beliefs DO NOT dictate our communities beliefs. Thank you PC Law Dog for standing up for our community.

Anonymous said...

Potter Dog The rally group against the white supremacy group are just as guilty for spreading this situation as they are. Both exist because of press coverage. I also have lived in Ulysses for decades and rally group have also been responsible for giving this information creedience, why wouldn't it be assumed that this was from Ulysses. I am not racist in any way but I also resent being associated with either group. Just throwing yourself into the fray of protesters also brings attention. If you just ignored these people, or gathered else where as a group and of quiet citizens in unity against whatever, there wouldn't be a reason for the racist group to protest either, thus no press. We in Ulysses are not all anxious to demand anything, for or against or to publicly demean anyone. Consider, if you live in Ulysses or ELSWHERE just mind your own business, or gather in quiet, rather than bringing all this attention to Ulysses!

AMEN 5:22, I said the exact same thing, the more they feed this group, the more noise they make

Potter County Law Dog said...

poster 5:22....you can "assume" all that you want. What i have a problem with is a prominent area news site like this posting this as if it is a known fact that the perpetrator of this defamation originated in Ulysses,PA with absolutely no facts of that. It's like me saying that I saw a pile of horse crap on the road over near Shongo, so must be one of the West Bingham Amish buggies went thru there.....

I'm not demeaning anyone.....I just think that it is very presumptious to put a label like that on this picture and call Ulysses a hotbed of racist hate hate.

Jim....you just proved my point for me. You have 2 named individuals. First of all....August Kreis had his thing going on in 2001 and has since been ousted, moved out west, and I believe he is in jail. The second person, Mr Burnside and his family reside in Ulysses. I don't personally know them, but i do know that they have never paraded past my house with a group of people and their "meeting" had a handful of people from out of the area here in town for a day and were completely peaceful, in fact there were more protesters of this group than members. You listed a bunch of news reports about the same two meetings...just proves my point about the press blowing things out of proportion and making the situation worse. like the poster above stated....the more attention you give them the more they grow. There is STILL absolutely no basis for linking this graffiti picture directly with Ulysses where 99% of the people are kind and caring Americans. So having 2 individuals in this area over the course of a decade makes it a hotbed for white supremacy? Are you getting my point yet or do you have your tunnel vision glasses on tonight? I'm certain the business owners in Ulysses certainly don't want our town labeled such as you have and trying to make people fear something that really doesn't exist. Please think about this a little....

Just wondering if Mr or Mrs Burnside is related to August Kreis, formerly from the area?
Thank you if anyone knows as fact, but sorry if this causes more nasty comments.
It was good to see related article list from other sources , and realize some folks have lived with this for at least 15 yrs.
Might help anyone with a small neighbor issue realize how fortunate they are , and be sure to try to resolve or accept something while still minor.....
Wishing peace for all.
Alan and Ann from Rural Potter County,PA and thankful for each day here.

Jim, The time and work you invested in the above quotes are sincerely appreciated! Anyone demanding something from you is asinine. You provide information needed on a daily basis, informing all of us a realm of legal actions, entertainment issues, and valuable informative reporting of criminal actions. Once in awhile someone might not agree with what is published, but I think we can all agree the reporting is always done in a manner conducive to supplying a fair and just bit of news, that we need. I am post number 5,22 and my opinion is meant to also relay some facts that some resent. There are facts and opinions within my post and I stand by my convictions. I really didn't assume anything, I said it was assumed. Thanks for providing your informative posts. I'm sure I have been called an ass before, but it doesn't change anything!

Potter County Law Dog said...

I appreciate Jim's work also and I am a frequent browser of this site on a daily basis. There is a big difference between informative posts and Mis-informative posts. Yes...I was wrong in "Demanding" that he changed the post....after all it is his site. I just want him to think about what I'm saying and give a GOOD explanation of why he would accuse Ulysses of being a hotbed for racism. Coudersport was one of the towns that had the KKK letters dropped in driveways...why isn't that mentioned.......I just don't feel that there are pertinent facts to base this destructive behavior on Ulysses.

Information has come to light tonight that the Philadelphia Inquirer has been doing interviews today for a story about the white supremacists movement in Ulysses and Potter County. Maybe they will throw some light on the situation. Articles naming Potter County and Ulysses as hotbeds have made the news on the Associated Press around the world in recent months. Little does the world know that it's all a tempest in a pot of tea, caused by one Ulysses family inviting members of the movement statewide to a picnic in Ulysses featuring a swastica burning at dark instead of fireworks. But having the PA State Director of the movement living in Ulysses and staging a rally in Harrisburg has certainly made Ulysses appear to outsiders as a hotbed of activity.

Potter County Law Dog said...

Once again you have posted what the rest of the press corp would post, which is what YOU want people to hear. In truth the protest in Harrisburg had a whopping 50 neo-nazis from the eastern states and the PA State Director of the movement is a self made title. I know that it all sounds very official to people who know no better and stuff like this keeps people coming to your site....but i really thought you would have been less biased.

I guess you can think and say whatever you want, but I'll bet that this would be posted in a very different light if it were YOUR hometown.

Potter Dog I can't get it in my head why you are being so protective of ULYSSES! As far as I see there aren't any perfect person, place or thing involved in Ulysses. We are no better than any small town. We have some run down deplorable housing, no perfect citizens, no famous history, just plain old Potter County, some intelligence, some not so Much! There are a large for sale base here, the homes aren't selling, and some would like to leave here and can't because of disabilities, finance or just because it's their home. Be honest why the outrage over a simple line on Solomons Words? We also probably have a few not-so-honest citizens finding this subject irreverent to them. Hard times, hard questions, that's life!

Dear Jim, A new day, one where most of us say an extra special THANK YOU, to all who served, and their families.
I followed this list of comments when I could yesterday, and did not expect to continue today. But seeing your post from late last night, has me thanking you for update. The actions and decisions made by one couple in Ulysses earlier this year, plus appearance last Saturday in Harrisburg, should help critics understand that YOU are informing us,when WE choose to read here. And THEY have the right on their property to gather But when they plan an event as the burning of swatisca in that location of small town, easy for most of us to know why folks were and still are upset. For me as a mom, grandma, and more it is especially hard knowing of those young children. And actions like in Wellsville remind us how easily stray misguided persons could do that type of vandalism in support. My choice today is back to necessary work and continuing prayers for all. Minds of adults are set, but those children, esp Burnside, are on my mind and many prayer lists. May those teachers be able to keep their cool, educate, and know they are also in prayers. Sorry this so long. SAL

Sabrina Burnside said...

Save your prayers for someone who needs them, my children are happy and healthy and do need you prayers.

I am still in agreement with PC Dog on this issue. This news story has now gone into national news and was mentioned on Fox News this morning. Small towns are already struggling, this added negativity is of no use at all. There is no proof that graffiti was even done by the White Supremacy Group, or if it was a random teen being destructive. Yeh, assume all you want this came or spread from Ulysses. It's hearsay and not a fact. Just as it is not a fact whomever did this was a Trump Supporter. It is all journalism at it's lowest. Link to one news article.

There we go Jim!! Are you going to post something about this on your front page and assume it all roots from the racist "hotbed" of Ulysses,PA. The general mentality of the press sickens me....Trump is correct....you are all bad.
