Andrea Kay Pettit, 66, of 96 Liberty St., Bolivar, NY,  passed away unexpectedly on Sunday December 25, 2016 in Strong Memorial Hospital Rochester. 

Born March 1, 1950 in Olean, she was the daughter of Lewis A and Joan McKay Pettit. 

Andrea was a graduate of Richburg Central School class of 1968 and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Alfred State College in 1986. She was a traveling registered nurse in critical care traveling throughout the country, retiring in 2012.

 Currently, Andrea was doing per diem nursing at Jones Memorial Hospital emergency room. 

She was the prior owner of Andy’s Sub Shop in Hornell. 

She was a caring mother, sister and friend who put others needs first, even if it hurt herself. Andrea was a friend and mentor to her grandchildren, nieces and nephews. 

She loved her home and was always seen working on a project on or around her home or workshop, and she loved her truck. 

Surviving are four sons, Erik (Missy) Stein of Bolivar, Brody (Katie) Stein of Land O Lakes, FL, Chantz (Austi) Pettit of Pensacola, FL, Chase (Terra) Sloat of Albuquerque, NM; Seven Grandchildren, Jordin, Sydney, James, Grace, Justice, Renae Stein and Desirea and Skyler Pettit; Four Sisters, Kim (Pat) Torrey, Little Genesee, Barbara (Curt) Burdick, Little Genesee, Linda (John) Innamorato, Bolivar, Pam (Don) Colerick, Little Genesee; Four Brothers, Ronald (Delisa) Pettit, Bastrop, TX, Mike (Pat) Pettit, Little Genesee, Shawn (Rebecca) Pettit, Bolivar, Frank (April) Pettit, Little Genesee. 

She was preceded in death by her father Lewis Pettit, mother Harriett Hennan, one brother Art Pettit, one sister Jody Eileen. There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held on Saturday December 31, 2016 at 11 a.m. in Faith Bible Church in Little Genesee. Pastor Ben Ramirez will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers, memorials to Autism Research Institute 4182 Adams Ave., San Diego CA. 92116 or to charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family. 

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. Bolivar.
