The campaign, called “Holiday Heroes,” aims to honor the community’s everyday heroes through a friendly competition while also calling attention to the constant need for blood.
“Holiday Heroes invites active duty and retired service men and women from the military, police, fire, EMS and other agencies to gather as many friends and family as possible and have them donate blood in the name of their agency,” says Lora Cope, Mobile Drive Coordinator for the Community Blood Bank. “We’re excited by the increase in participation from the first year to the second, and we’re hoping for even more participants this year.” Last year, Tioga/ Wellsboro EMS / SSMH took 3rd place.
