Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather

PRENTISVALE, PA. — Donald K. Burrows, 87, passed away Friday (December 16th, 2016) at the Bradford Regional Medical Center following a brief illness.

Born Jan. 12, 1929 in Larabee, he was a son of Lloyd and Gladys Leet Burrows. On Sept. 5, 1949 in Farmer’s Valley, he married Alice Freer, who survives.

Don attended Smethport area schools. He had resided in Prentisvale for over 60 years.

He had been employed by C. F. Industries in Olean as a millwright for many years until their closing. He then worked various jobs in the local area until retirement.

He was a member and past master of the Northern Star Masonic Lodge No. 555 F & AM of Duke Center and also had been a member of the The Allegheny Mountain Engine and Implement Association.

Don enjoyed refurbishing antique engines and spending time tinkering in his garage; as well as collecting antique tools and blow torches.

Surviving in addition to his wife of 67 years are one son, Jerry (Marlene) Burrows of Eldred; two daughters, Carol (Gary) Eaton and Darlene (Randy) Nuhfer, both of Eldred; four grandchildren, Todd (Janice Jefferds) Burrows, Laura (Chris) Burrows, Tracie (Ric) Frederick and Yvonne (Scott) Conley; seven great-grandchildren, Garret, Alicia, Kiersten, Keaghan, Vivian, Ava, and Lydia; a stepsister, Lois Kness of DuBois; two sisters Beatrice (Glenn) Austin of Smethport and Lois Milliron of Kennebunk, Maine; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Bickford; and three brothers, Kenny, Ralph and Lloyd Jr. Burrows.

At the family's request, private visitation and funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Grimes Cemetery, Port Allegany.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
