DuBOIS – Penn State DuBois will offer instructional courses in golf this spring, for those looking to either take up the sport for the first time, or for current golfers looking to improve their game. Registration is open now, in time for friends and family to purchase classes for loved ones as a holiday gift.
Two unique courses will be offered. Fundamentals of Golf is designed to help beginners learn the different clubs, how the game is played, golf etiquette, and more. Hands-on group and individual exercises will help to develop the correct golf swing. Class size is limited to 12, and will run from 6:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays from March 28, though May 2, 2017.
Get a Grip on Your Golf Game is for the more experienced golfer who wants to improve his or her game and learn new techniques to correct bad habits. The class will focus on improving your game with advanced instruction. Class limited to 12, and will run from 7:40 p.m. until 8:40 p.m. on Tuesdays, March 28, though May 2, 2017.
Both classes will be taught by Greg Kennis, superintendent at Kenterra Golf Course near DuBois, which was established in Fall of 2004 as a family-owned and operated business. It was constructed using only the natural layout of the Kennis family farm. Kennis graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a degree in Turfgrass Science in 2000.
