Jim W. Schnepp, Jr.

Jim W. Schnepp, Jr., 70, of Bradford, PA, passed away on Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Bradford Regional Medical Center.

He was born on July 7, 1946 in Kane, a son of the late James and June Thompson Schnepp, Sr.

He was a 1964 graduate of the Smethport Area High School and he received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Pittsburgh main campus in 1969.

On July 24, 1995 in the First United Methodist Church he married Shirley M. Shaffner who survives.

He was a former member of the Bradford Exchange club, the Italian American Progressive club and Club IAS. He was the founding member of the “Coffee Club”. He was a volunteer for many local civic organizations and the Friendship Table where he was a past board member. He was an avid golfer, a talented and humorous writer and he enjoyed hunting. Anyone that knew Jim knew he had a sharp wit and he always enjoyed sharing a joke with his friends.

He was employed as a service manager at the former Star Garage and later as a manager for the former Bidwell Chevrolet. Until recently he was the proprietor of Jim’s Auto Butler.

In addition to his wife of thirty seven years, Shirley Schnepp of Bradford, he is also survived by two sons, Doug (Julie) Schnepp of Pittsburgh and Jamie Schnepp of Pittsburgh; one daughter, Lori (Earl) Grubbs of Pittsburgh; two stepsons, Rob (Anita) Kemick of Bradford and Mike (Vicki Hart) Kemick of Bradford; one stepdaughter, Sherry (Steve) Kille of Bradford; one brother, Fred (Terri) Schnepp of Erie; six grandchildren, Justine Schnepp, Kayce Schnepp, Nick Schnepp, Josh Schnepp, Elizabeth Grubbs and Cole Grubbs; two step grandchildren, Saraya Milne and Jessica Milne and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. from 4:00 to 7:00 PM and again on Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with a funeral service to immediately follow with the Rev. W. Leroy Beckes, retired pastor of the First Presbyterian Church.

Burial will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Friendship Table, 21 East Corydon St., Bradford, PA 16701 or a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
