Clarksville Volunteer Fire Company, Inc--Extrication Complete!!

Call #05

At approximately 1400 hours crews were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident, car vs power pole at the CA 6/ Wolf Creek Rd. intersection.

Chiefs 501 (Hayward), 502 (LaFever), and Engine 2 (Lt Miller) hit the street 3 minutes after dispatch followed by CVAS and Cuba Ambulance.

501's on scene report indicated vehicle on its side against power pole with one person entrapped. The engine crew deployed rescue struts to stabilize the vehicle and extrication tools to assist in patient removal if needed. The patient was removed from the driver's side door, placed on a backboard and ladders were placed to lower the patient to ground level into EMS care.

Crews provided traffic control for 2.5 hours while the car was removed and RG&E transferred power off of the damaged pole.

This was the first accident requiring struts since they were placed in service just 4 days ago.
