Elizabeth A. "Betty" Richter, a former Little Genesee, NY

Elizabeth A. "Betty" Richter

CLARENCE - Elizabeth A. "Betty" Richter of 4520 Ransom Road, and a former Little Genesee resident, passed away on Saturday (Dec. 31, 2016) in the Brothers of Mercy Nursing Home following a brief illness.

Betty was born on April 26, 1931, in Buffalo, and was the daughter of Frank and Florence Cyman Wojtczak. She married Edward J. Richter in October 1950, in Cheektowaga. Mr. Richter preceded her in death on Nov. 7, 1994.

She owned and operated the Herb Basket in Little Genesee for many years prior to her retirement. Betty was an active volunteer at the Bolivar Food Pantry and the Little Genesee Library. She was a member of St. Mary's Church Bolivar and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

Surviving are two sons, Edward (Diane) Richter of Marilla and James F. Richter of Little Genesee; a daughter, Billie M. (Steven) Price of Lockport; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie (Richard) Schmitt of Little Genesee; a brother, Thomas Wojtczak of Angola; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by four brothers, Michael, John, Frank and Joseph Wojtczak.

A memorial Mass of Christian burial be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday (Jan. 14, 2017) at St. Mary's Church Bolivar. Burial is in St. Mary's Cemetery Bolivar.

Memorials can be made to St. Mary's Church 111 Wellsville St., Bolivar, NY 14715; or to the Bolivar Community Food Pantry, Box 180, Little Genesee, NY 14754. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Schaffner Funeral Home Inc. in Bolivar
