Glenn L. Hess, 85, of Port Allegany, PA formerly of Bradford,PA

Glenn L. Hess, 85, of Port Allegany, PA formerly of Bradford,PA passed away on Monday, January 2, 2017 at his home.

He was born on May 14, 1931 in Emlenton, a son of the late William and Gladys Mullen Hess.

He attended Bradford area schools.

On November 25, 1957 in Bradford he married Mary E. Rider who survives.

He attended Lafayette Evangelical Church. He enjoyed going for walks and watching western movies.

He worked for his mother at the former Steak House in Limestone, NY and he was employed for many years by the former Rink Brothers Chrysler Dealership in Bradford until he retired in 2003.

In addition to his wife of 59 years, Mary Hess of Port Allegany, he is also survived by one daughter, Linda Sturtevant of Port Allegany; one son, Roger (Donna) Hess of Waxahachie, TX; one brother, Craig Hess of Polk; one brother-in-law, Ken Herbstrit of Oil City and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, William Hess and Gladys Hess-Lutman, he was also preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Herbstrit; one brother, Orlo Hess; one sister-in-law, Rasama Hess and one son-in-law, John Sturtevant.

Friends are invited to attend a graveside committal service at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at McKean Memorial Park with a Memorial Service to immediately follow at the Lafayette Evangelical Church with the Rev. Bob Baldwin, officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that memorial contributions be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
