'It's A Big One': Iowa Pipeline Leaks Nearly 140,000 Gallons Of Diesel

by Rebecca Hersher
NPR

An underground pipeline that runs through multiple Midwestern states has leaked an estimated 138,000 gallons of diesel fuel, according to the company that owns it, Magellan Midstream Partners.

Clay Masters of Iowa Public Radio reported diesel leaking from a 12-inch underground pipe was initially spotted in a farm field in north-central Worth County, Iowa, on Wednesday morning. Officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and Iowa Department of Natural Resources joined representatives of Magellan and other local officials at the site, Masters reported.

Let's raise pork on this ground and feed it to your family. Hogwash. ?

This is a prime example of why we need to stop building these pipelines and why we need to invest in alternative energy. The technology is there, but big business is preventing the use of alternate energy. There are more jobs to be gained from green energy than there are from these pipelines.

to comment at 11:04, yes renewable energy is there but that does not happen overnight. Then how many tractor trailers would be on the roads if we did not have pipelines. Billions of gallons are transported each day, and soon more with Natural gas, so pick your poison, more trucks crashing on the roads, or pipelines, no easy choice.

So what if there is a leak? Its leaking back into the ground and that's where it came from.

10:36 you are a special kind of stupid. The pork you eat is born and raised in a barn. Hardly ever see the light of day.

More exaggerated fake news from the Liberal media. The only reason this is news is because Mr. Trump Signed executive orders to begin construction on the Keystone and the DAPL pipelines.

This is actually real news without alternative facts. Pipelines will rupture. This proves that fact. It DOESN`T matter if they are underground or not. You shouldn`t go outside without a helmet 10:01.

Put it on a train that Soros owns and hope it stays on the track
