Enjoy a night out with a meal and music. The Deane Center for the Performing Arts at 104 Main Street and Timeless Destination restaurant and lounge at 77 Main Street, a short walk across the street from each other in downtown Wellsboro, are presenting dinner and a concert option for a discounted price on Friday, Jan. 20.
Dinner will be served at Timeless between 5 and 6 p.m. on Jan. 20. Included is a beverage (coffee, tea or a soft drink), a cup of soup or a salad, fresh bread and a choice of entrée. Choose one of these: an eight-ounce marinated sirloin steak, seven-ounce dill salmon, chicken oreganata, shrimp scampi or chicken marsala. The steak, salmon and chicken oreganata come with a vegetable and the potato of the day. The scampi and marsala are served over pasta. Dessert and alcoholic beverages are not included in the price but soft drinks are. A dessert menu will be on each table.
Featured during the 7:30 p.m. concert that night in the Deane Center’s Coolidge Theatre will be internationally renowned acoustic guitarists Loren Barrigar and Mark Mazengarb. They are known not only for their musical chemistry and stage presence but also for their unique style of guitar playing, largely built on the thumb-picking techniques pioneered by guitar greats Merle Travis and Chet Atkins. Performing as Loren and Mark, the duo's varied repertoire ranges from classical to jazz and bluegrass to gypsy swing. They play originals and their own arrangements of well-known songs by other musicians. Among the selections they will perform in Wellsboro will be melodies made famous by Atkins, Les Paul and the Beatles. Loren and Mark's stunning guitar instrumentals and harmonies on their vocal duets have brought audiences to their feet.
Tickets for the concert only are $20 and $17 for senior citizens and $35 for the meal and music. For dinner and concert tickets or for concert tickets only, visit deanecenter.com or call the Deane Center at 570-724-6220.
