Why does Pa still let the drillers get permits? When most of these companies contaminate our water ways dump there brine on the ground. Does the Pa Law makers care about our health, or our children who has to live with this the rest of their lives.

I wonder why the DEP cites some operators for violations while they are plugging wells, while waiving plugging permit requirements for others.

Hey 11:47 commenter, and everyone else: Look down the page a couple of articles and noticed the article about PennDot pre-treating the highways with "salt-brine", by the tank truck full.

Isn't it ironic that this material being spread openly across the state, is likely many times more salty than the little bit of fluid possibly spilled in the operation or plugging of the little shallow oil wells cited as violators of environmental law in this article. I guess not all spilled salt water is equal under the law....
