Robert L. "Ribbs" Butler

Robert L. "Ribbs" Butler, 84, of 832 Interstate Parkway, Bradford, PA, went to be with his Lord, Monday, January 9, 2017, at The Pavilion at BRMC surrounded by his loving family.

Born December 3, 1932, in Bradford, he was a son of the late Thomas Butler and Edna (Reynolds) Butler-Everitt.

On February 20, 1954, at St. Bernard Church, he married Beverly L (Yonker) Butler who survives.

Mr. Butler was a 1953 graduate of St. Bernard High School. He had been employed with Bell Telephone as an installer, and retired after 42 years of service.

Bob was a member of St. Bernard Church, the Bell Pioneer's, and Communication Workers of America.

Mr. Butler enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and going to his families sporting events. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Surviving in addition to his wife Beverly of 62 years are two daughters, Teresa (Wayne) Cawley, of Bradford, and Karen (Steve) Disney, of Lewis Run, three sons, Tim (Gail Terry) Butler, and Doug (Ginny) Butler, all of Bradford, and Chris (Marcey) Butler of Edgewood, MD, 16 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one great granddaughter Charlie Butler. three sisters, Marie Wood, Jeanne Martin, and Rita Mongar, two brothers, Jack Butler and Joe Butler.

Family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 12, 2017, from 2 to 4pm & 6 to 8pm in the Hollenbeck-Cahill Funeral Homes, Inc., 372 East Main Street, where a prayer service will be held at 10:30am, Friday, January 13, 2017, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am in St. Bernard Church, with Rev. Raymond Gramata, pastor as Celebrant. Committal services and burial will be in St Bernard Mausoleum.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to St. Bernard Church Building Fund or a charity of the donor's choice.
