Cool...they can write up their first ticket on themselves for driving the police cars while texting on a cell phone like they were the other day going around the corner by sheetz and nearly hitting my truck stopped at the redlight.

NO this is just spending more money, on BS!!! DO your job anyone could stand on the corners of both red lights any day and watch car, trucks, vans, tractor trailers, busses, ata, gerners, twin tiers, county vans, you name it they have all done it. you have 2 vehicles put a man in an unmarked at the corner, another one down the street, radio him anyone going thro stop them all line them up an arrest them all

I remember working for Coudersport PD, in the early 1970's We had and answering Machine in the office, if we got a call a light would light up on a pole in front of the Crittenden. then we would go into the office to check the message. The police car was a 1968 Buick two door. we had a Police Radio in the Car however it was only hooked up to a radio in the office, so the only time it was used was on the day shift, when the borough secretary was working. My how times have changed.

And don't forget to factor in the cost of training to send everyone to classes to be taught how to use and implement the new technology. Most likely another certification to be needed.

How much training did you get on how to use your smart phone

Anonymous said...

Did you get a certification with your smart phone? Do you use it to make arrests?

If you see something happening that isn't right, do something to fix it. Don't sit behind a computer and bitch about it. That gets nothing done. Get up off your ass and take action or shut up.

Next thing you know, they'll want to be upgraded from .38 revolvers to 9MM semi-autos. Such a waste of money.

How is this possible but yet the town pool needs so much funding to stay open? New boro police vehicles, new sheriff vehicles, all this unneeded crap, but the kids in the town are going to lose basically the only thing they have left to do!!!

5:58 Good point!!!! Hope some of the Boro Officials read this!!! Wake up!!

I'm no expert, but if I was an officer I would like to know who I have pulled over. You could have a killer or drug dealer. As soon as they put in info they could see wants and warrants.
As far as the pool, I read the story the other day, in 2 sentences back to back it stated"we are the only town in the county with a pool".
All the other towns get by without one, but I bet they would love to be fortunate enough to.
If the town can't afford a pool I guess parents will have to spend time with their kids and teach them to swim.

They will spend stupidly like this but can't find the money to upgrade the town pool so kids in town have something to do

I totally agree with 5:58 the children need that town pool, it keeps them busy n out of trouble.
I only hope your community all pull together keeping the pool...you's can do fund raisers, the young ppl can help out a lot.....where there's a will, there's a way.....
