can be done by seniors using a chair for balance.
"For this Golden Afternoons program, I will be showing participants how to do a modified version of PiYo, a Pilates and yoga fusion workout. We will be doing stretching and simple calisthenic moves while sitting and standing. During these exercises, we will use chairs for stability," Emmick said.
"It is a great workout to improve balance, strength and flexibility and helps with blood circulation. The panticipants will learn moves they can do at home," she added. "This is the third time I have given this one-hour program at the Deane Center."
Emmick is certified and licensed in many different fitness formats since first becoming an instructor in 2010. She currently teaches PiYo Live and Butts & Guts through the Wellsboro Department of Parks and Recreation. Classes she has taught in the past include Insanity, Zumba, Kettlebell, Boot Camp, Indoor Cycling and Cardio Kickboxing.
"I love teaching fitness classes. It is a wonderful way to get fit, make new friends and show folks that working out can be fun," Emmick said.
