ERIE, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford men’s and women’s swimming teams kicked off the AMCC Championships Wednesday in Erie.

After one event, the Panther men are in second with 36 points, and the women are in third with 24 points.

The quartet of Lucas Cerchiaro, Carey Behm, Corey Koss, and Devyn Condon broke the school-record in the 800-yard free relay in a time of 7:18.35, more than five seconds better than the previous record, to finish second behind Penn State Behrend.

The women’s 800-yard free relay team of Elizabeth Prager, Jillian Wright, Rebecca Avery and Wenjing Miao placed third.

Pitt-Bradford returns to the pool tomorrow at 10 a.m. for day two of the AMCC Championships.
