Coudersport Rabies Clinic – April 7, 2018. A Rabies Clinic will be held Saturday, April 7th from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Coudersport Fire Hall. All dogs, cats, and ferrets that are at least 12 weeks old can be vaccinated against the rabies virus. The first time a dog or cat receives a vaccine, it is good for one year. Each time after that, the vaccination is good for three years. Ferrets must be vaccinated annually. All animals attending the clinic must be on a leash or in a container. Cost is $5.00 per animal. The clinic is sponsored by Dr. Lindsay Schwartzmeyer of the Potter County Veterinary Clinic, LLC.

Monroe C. Baker, 66, of Lewis Run, PA

Monroe C. Baker

Monroe C. Baker, 66, of Lewis Run, PA passed away on Thursday, February 9, 2017 at UPMC Hamot, Erie.

He was born on February 12, 1950 in Bradford, a son of the late Orson and Nora Thomas Baker.

He was a graduate of the Bradford Area High School.

On July 8, 1972 in the Lafayette Evangelical Church he married Lillian M. Sherwood who survives.

Monroe enjoyed working on cars, riding his lawn tractor around the yard and tinkering with things. He especially loved his “grandpuppies” Balto, Spike, Coco and Buddy.

He was employed by the Bradford Area School District in the bus garage for several years prior to working at the former Northern Hardwood Round, Mt. Jewett. He then worked at W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery until he retired in 1985 due to health reasons. After retirement he volunteered for the Salvation Army and was a driver for the DAV.

In addition to his wife of 44 years, Lillian Baker of Lewis Run, he is also survived by three sons, Roger Baker of Richburg, NY, David Baker of Lewis Run and Thomas Baker of Lewis Run; one daughter, Lilly Baker of Lewis Run; two sister-in-laws, Lois Spaich of Kane and Lovila Spaich of Depew, NY and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by one son, Charles M. Baker, four brothers and four sisters.

Visitation will be held on Monday, February 13, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 PM at the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday at the funeral home at 1:00 PM with the Rev. Barbara Moore, pastor of Evans Memorial United Methodist church officiating.

Interment will be in McKean Memorial Park, Lafayette.

Memorial contributions in his memory can be made to the Bradford Salvation Army, P.O. Box 314, Bradford, PA 16701.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
