ERIE, Pa. - The Pitt-Bradford men’s swimming team won a pair of titles on day three of the AMCC championships to jump to second place in the standings, and the women’s team registered two top-five finishes.
Corey Koss defended his title in the 100-yard back, winning by three-tenths of a second, to earn the Panthers’ second individual championship of the week.
The 200-yard medley relay of Koss, Noah Frederick, Lucas Cerchiaro and Nicholas Boyd won in dominating fashion, finishing in a time of 1:38.68.
Cerchiaro placed third in the 100-yard butterfly, Boyd was fifth and Devyn Condon took seventh. Carey Behm finished third in the 200-yard free and Mitchell Smith was six. Frederick finished fourth in the 100-yard breast race.
In women’s results, Elizabeth Prager finished runner-up in the 100-yard back, and Jillian Wright took fifth in the 100-yard breast swim.
Wenjing Miao placed eighth in the 100-yard breast, and Rebecca Avery was ninth in the 100-yard butterfly.
With one day left of competition, the men trail only Pen State Behrend with 273 total points, and the women are in seventh with 115 points.
