Roland “Dale” Dunkle
Roland “Dale” Dunkle, 85, of Crosby, PA died Saturday afternoon at Olean General Hospital after a brief illness.
He was born in Clermont on March 26, 1931 a son of the late Arthur Roy and Beatrice Fay Church Dunkle. He attended Clermont and Smethport Schools.

On April 15, 1955 at the United Methodist Church in Port Allegheny he married Evelyn Fitzsimmons.
He was employed by Pittsburgh Corning as a furnace operator and retired after 34 years of service.
He attended the Crosby United Methodist Church, was a member of the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 in Crosby, and a social member of the Norwich Township Fire Department.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Evelyn Dunkle of Crosby, he is also survived by three sons; Wayne Dunkle (Rose Ann) of Laurel, MD, Michael Dunkle (Susan) of Betula, Ronald Joseph Dunkle (Hope) of Emporium, and one daughter Mary Dunkle of Crosby. Five beautiful granddaughters survived him; Chelsea Dunkle, Olivia Dunkle, Alison Dunkle, and Miranda Dunkle, Gabrielle Milford and one grandson, Ian Sarokon. He is survived by two brothers, Arlington Dunkle, Wilbur Dunkle both of Smethport, and three sisters, Vesta Smith of Renovo, Minnie Herzog of Port Allegany, and Marlene Burt of Smethport.
In addition to his parents Arthur Roy and Beatrice Fay Dunkle, he was preceded in death by four brothers Arthur Dunkle, Laverne Dunkle, Keith Dunkle, and Kenneth Dunkle, and two sisters Violet Kelly and Irene Dunkle.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 14, from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. at Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes, Inc., 2 Bank St., Smethport, PA, where funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 15 at 11:00 am, with the Rev. Randall Headley, pastor of the Crosby United Methodist Church, officiating.
Burial will be in the Clermont Cemetery, Clermont. Military Honors will be accorded by the American Legion; John Berg Post #976 of Crosby.
