Potter County Cemetery Project Has A Test Run Tonight

Paul W. Heimel added 3 new photos.

Tonight we held a demonstration project at the Lymansville Cemetery with the Sons of the American Legion and other volunteers. Results were stunning as we cleaned the grave markers of Civil War veterans Cassius C. Warren and Thomas Sinsabaugh. Lugene and I pitched in on Pvt. Sinsabaugh's marker. He was held in two Confederate POW camps and returned to Potter County after the war. The countywide mission kicks off on May 13 at the Eulalia Cemetery. All signs point to a successful launch.

So happy to see this happening! I walk by this cemetery on a daily basis and have had to contain myself from going into the graveyard and standing tipped stones over and making it look a little better. I get that Lymanville cemetery is very old, but these folks buried in this cemetery deserve all our respect.

Can you tell me what you used to clean the headstones with?

I plan to participate in this. EVERY headstone should be cleaned and properly situated. That is how I plan to work!
