Over 60 vendors will be selling unique items and food at the Sixth Annual Earth Day being held this Saturday, April 22 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. near Mansfield at the Mill Cove Environmental Area. One new vendor is Liz McLelland (shown), owner of Yorkshire Meadows Knitting & Spinning Shop located on North Elk Run Road not far from Mill Cove. She will be bringing natural colored wool yarn, hand-dyed sock yarn and hand-dyed lace weight yarn to use for shawls as well as a mix of finished items. What do you do with small, odd-sized wooden doors? McLelland turned them into art. "I decorated them by painting flowers on the raised center panel. That's my newest project," she said. At her booth, she will also have shortbread cookies, lemon curd and assorted jams that she makes. For more information about Earth Day at Mill Cove or for directions, visit www.millcovearea.org.
