The Kittanning Paper

PLUMCREEK TOWNSHIP – A three-vehicle crash in Plumcreek Township claimed the life of a Smethport woman.

The accident occurred shortly after midnight Saturday along Route 422.

Kimberly Ann Gore, 51, of Smethport, PA was fatally injured when the 1969 Ford Mustang in which she was a passenger was struck from the rear by a 2006 Jeep Commander driven by an unidentified 39-year-old man from Kittanning. The impact pushed the Mustang into the other lane and was struck by a 2007 GMC Acadia driven by an unidentified 26-year-old female from Kittanning.

The driver of the Mustang, an unidentified 55-year-old Kittanning man, was ejected from the vehicle. He was flown to UPMC Presbyterian Hospital with severe injuries.

The driver of the Jeep and his passenger were life-flighted to UPMC Presbyterian for injuries.

The driver of the GMC and her passenger received medical treatment at the scene by EMS personnel for minor injuries.

Armstrong County Coroner Brian Myers said Gore was ejected from the vehicle.

“An autopsy shows that the victim died of multiple blunt force traumas to the abdomen and torso . Toxicology results will be pending for several weeks until they are received back,” he said.

She was pronounced dead at ACMH Hospital Emergency Room.

The Pennsylvania State Police was assisted by Kittanning EMS, Ford City EMS, Elderton Fire Department, Kittanning Township Fire Department, and Stat Medevac medical helicopter. State Police spent nearly six hours working throughout the night to recreate the event that led to the tragic outcome.
