David W. Beimel, 53, of Highland Road, Kane, PA

David W. Beimel

David W. Beimel, 53, of Highland Road, Kane, PA, passed away unexpectedly May 8, 2017, at his home.

He was born March 4, 1964, in Port Allegany, son of Walter W. Beimel of Kersey and Frances M. McKimm Long of Emporium. 

He was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of St. Marys Area High School, Class of 1982. David was a professional horse jockey and antiquer.

David is survived by his longtime girlfriend, Laura Romeo of Kane; a son, Michael Beimel of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Irvan and Olivia; his stepmother, Stephanie Beimel of Kersey; and his stepfather, Ronald Long of Emporium. Also surviving are three sisters, Janine Mathesz and her husband Rick of Allentown, Theresa Edgar and her husband Chris of Ridgway, and Irene McCandless and her husband John of Kersey; three brothers, Ron Long, Jr. and his wife Karen of Douglassville, PA, Don Beimel and his wife Gina of Kersey, and Todd Beimel and his wife Tiffany of Ridgway; his grandmother, Ethel Long of North Bend, PA; and by many aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

David was preceded in death by a sister, Michelle Beimel.

David was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing drums, fishing, and taking care of his horses, chickens, dogs, cats, and pet turkey.

There will be no visitation.

Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Service to be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Saturday, May 13, 2017, at 10:30 AM, with the Rev. David Nagele, Pastor of the Brockway Church of God, officiating.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to the Island Run Sportsmen’s Club, PO Box 341, Ridgway, PA 15853, or to a favorite charity.
