Eva Irene Robinson, 94, of Coudersport, PA

Eva Irene Robinson

Eva Irene Robinson, 94, of Coudersport, PA,  passed away peacefully May 26, 2017 at Cole Memorial Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

Born April 30, 1923 in Sunderlinville, PA to Frank and Viva Stiles Ruter, Eva grew up and lived her life in the Coudersport area. She married Earlist “Early” Robinson and with him raised her family in Coudersport.

Eva was a lifelong and active member of the Coudersport Christian and Missionary Alliance Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, served on the Women’s Missionary Fellowship committee, and as a Deaconess.

A vigorous woman, she worked various jobs on farms, in manufacturing and at the Alliance Church day care. Eva was very active, loved picking blackberries, working puzzles and listening to polkas, was an avid cook and baker who was well-known for her Christmas cookies and cinnamon rolls.

Eva volunteered at her church’s food pantry, and at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Eva was well-known and loved in her community and was known as “Grandma Eva” by many. She was kind, compassionate and selfless in her extravagant love which she poured out on her family and friends. She will be deeply missed.

Eva is survived by two grandchildren: Tina Ling of Lebanon, and Tim Snyder of Coudersport; 1 great-grandson: Noah Ling of Lebanon; 2 sisters: Betty Spong of Coudersport and Jane Kniffen of Corning, NY; and a very large extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Gary Robinson, daughter Carolyn Snyder, grandson Brian Robinson, and 3 brothers: Frank, Ed and Chet Ruter.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation from 11am to 1pm Saturday June 3, at the Coudersport Christian and Missionary Alliance Church with a memorial service to follow.

Memorial contributions may be made in her name to a charity of one’s choice. Arrangements by the Thomas E. Fickinger Funeral Home 210 North East Street Coudersport, PA. To sign her guestbook and share a memory, visit www.thomasfickinger.com.
