Jean Marie Swanson, 90, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Dagus Mines, PA

Jean Marie Swanson, 90, a resident of Elk Haven Nursing Home and formerly of Dagus Mines, PA, died Monday, May 29, 2017 at Elk Haven after a lengthy illness.

She was born Sept. 19, 1926 in Dagus Mines, daughter of the late Axel and Jennie Hallgren Swanson. 

She was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Kersey High School, Class of 1944. She was also a graduate of the Indiana State Teachers College and she attended Penn State University. Jean Marie was a retired business math teacher at Port Allegany High School and was a member of the Maria Lutheran Church.

She is survived by cousins.

A funeral service for Jean Marie Swanson will be held in the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home on Friday, June 2 at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Eric Hart officiating. Burial will follow in the Maria Lutheran Cemetery.

Visitation is at the Lynch-Radkowski Funeral Home, 169 Center Street, St. Marys, PA on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of service.

Memorials, if desired, may be made to a favorite charity .
