Melvin L. Parris, 73, of Bradford, PA

Melvin L. Parris

Melvin L. Parris, 73, of Bradford, PA, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2017 at the Bradford Manor.

He was born on May 6, 1944 in DuBois, a son of the late Joseph H. and Bertha M. Pierce Parris.

Melvin was a volunteer at S.T.E.P.S on Chestnut St., Bradford. He loved to ride his bicycle all around town, go fishing, play pool and go for car rides. He was loved by all his friends; who affectionately referred to him as “weasel”.

He is survived by two brothers, Edward F. Parris, Sr. of Olean, NY and Earl Parris of Smethport; one sister, Donna (Carl) Larkin of Port Allegany and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

At his request there will be no visitation. Friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the home of his caregiver, Diane Nethery, at 198 South Ave., Bradford at 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 3, 2017 with the Rev. Dale Painter officiating.

Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery, Smethport.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Mascho Funeral Home, Inc.
