Open Auditions for "Tune in to HG Radio" are May 19, 20, 21, 22, 27 and 28

Hamilton-Gibson Productions is holding open auditions for "Tune in to HG Radio" in the evening at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 19 and Monday, May 22 and in the afternoon at 1 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, May 20 and 21 and May 27 and 28.

All auditions will be in the Warehouse Theatre at 3 Central Avenue in Wellsboro. No previous experience with acting or theater is required. Actors of all ages are encouraged to try out.

Radio HG will turn the dial to the Golden Age of Radio relished by earlier generations. “Each performance will include a mix of plays, adventure serials, comedy sketches, kid programs and talk shows,” said Gabe Hakvaag, who is producing the program. “During the Golden Age of Radio, broadcasters learned how to use just sound to tell the story."

For "Tune in to HG Radio," the audience will enter a “radio studio” and watch as actors gather before microphones, scripts in hand, each playing different characters. While there will be dialogue, sound effects and music, the scenery, costumes and action of the characters will take place in the listener’s imagination.

Performances of "Tune in to HG Radio" will be at 7:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, July 21 and 22, July 28 and 29 and at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 23. Each performance will feature a different schedule of shows.
