While she supplied it, he was an adult and he also made the decision to use it. We all tell kids to just say no to drugs.....he could have said no! So he is just as responsible for his own death! No, she shouldn't have supplied it, but he wasn't forced to use it! Some, in fact most of the responsibility is on him!

What they said....

No where does it say he was forced to use it. But the supplier should get in trouble for supplying it!

I completely agree, she should be held responsible for supplying the drugs, but, he is the one responsible for his death. If he didnt get it from her, he would have gotten it elsewhere. Addicts gamble with their lives everytime they get high, unfortunately he lost his life.

Two less drugys off the street! I'm for the use of Marijuana but heroin meth dealers and selling of prescription pills should do at least 10 years in prison! There killing a lot of people everywhere!

She needs to be held accountable,
Yes it was his choice to take it, & he already has pd death for his choice, so she needs to be held accountable for her own actions.....

Blame everyone else for your problems, the way of the world today!

I wonder how many people her father turned onto or sold dope to before he became a "victim"?

Perhaps the daughter should consider that!

Was his own choice to put that poison in his body-not at all fair!

She knew the consequences of selling the drug just as much as he knew the consequences of taking it. He took a chance and lost his life, she took a chance and is going to prison. I don't see the controversy in that. Not like she was unaware it was illegal to possess and sell the drug, she likely even knew the amount of time she was looking at if she sold to someone who ended up dying from it. No sympathy.

According to the Olean Times Herald, she was prosecuted because she knew the victim was just out of rehab and clean and the drugs she sold him, a mix of heroin and Fentanyl, would in all likelyhood kill him.

Chelsea Lyons is a liar, she has been selling heroin for years in olean, this is not her first time selling heroin only the first time she has been caught, I've bought heroin from her numerous times

This isn't about fair or unfair. In circumstances excluding death, most of you complaining about the "unfair" sentence, are probably the same people who cry for stiffer penalties. The man is dead and that's the consequences of his actions. Paid in full. The grieving daughter may be wrong placing all the blame on the DRUG DEALER...if it almost killed him...but he's DEAD. There's no one left to place the blame on but...the DRUG DEALER. Lastly, you people do realize that your crying about an "unfair" sentence for a heroin dealer? One to three years is unfair? I think it's unfair too. It's unfair to the innocent and easily influenced preteen, teen, our young adult that this heroin dealer can possibly sell drugs to by the end of 2018. It's unfair to their parents and their friends too. All because the heroin dealer received an "unfair" one to three years. Justice would be served with a 20 year sentence. Which is just about enough time, for people of this caliber, to reflect on why selling heroin is bad.

Totally agree MAD MIKE !!!!

Not saying she shouldn't be charged for selling drugs or even for suppling them....she definitely should be. Just saying he made the choice to take them....therefore his death is on him. She is guilty of being a supplier of drugs and should definitely do time for that...no question about it. She however should not be held responsible for his death. He really had no reason to even go near her, knowing that she did that....he went to her to get drugs....that is on him.
