WELLSBORO TOWN BAND & ARMY NATIONAL GUARD 28TH INFANTRY DIVISION BAND CONCERT IS ON JUNE 28

At 7 p.m. on Wednesday, June 28, the “Almost World Famous” Wellsboro Town Band will be joined by the 35-member 28th Infantry Division Band based in Hollidaysburg, Pa. for a joint concert on The Green, a park located in the heart of downtown Wellsboro. The concert is free and open to the public. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. In case of rain, the concert will be in the Wellsboro High School Auditorium on Nichols Street in Wellsboro.
With a history of service that predates the American Revolution, the 28th Infantry Division Band is among the top performing Army National Guard Bands in the nation today. The band has represented the 28th Division and the nation it serves at functions throughout the eastern United States, Canada and Europe. Although the band only meets twice a month, the individual talents of its members allow the band to maintain its high standard of excellence.

The Wellsboro Town Band will perform the first half of the concert. The 28th Infantry Division Band will play music of the movies during the second half of the concert. Then both bands will join in playing the "Armed Forces Medley" and Sousa's "The Stars and Stripes Forever."

The Army National Guard's 28th Infantry Division Band is Pennsylvania’s oldest music performance group with a history of uninterrupted service of more than 60 years.
