Microsurfacing on I-80 in Northumberland County Begins Next Week

Montoursville, PA – A 5.5-mile microsurfacing project on Interstate 80 in Northumberland County is set to begin Thursday, July 13. The project limits include the interstate in both directions from just east of the Route 15 Interchange to just east of the Montour County line.
This work includes microsurfacing, epoxy overlays on bridge decks, line painting and rumble strips. Work also will be performed on ramps at Route 147/I-180 and Route 254. The paving of the ramps and car lots at the rest areas in Montour County also are included in this contract.

On Thursday, work will begin on I-80 eastbound beginning east of the Route 15 Interchange. The passing lane will be closed and traffic will be restricted to a single lane. This work will be performed at night, from 9 PM to 7 AM.

This project is expected to be completed in mid-September.

Asphalt Paving Systems, Inc., is the prime contractor on this $1.9 million project.
