NATIONAL CHAMPS!!!

Eldred - Two local youth trap teams from pea-dunk Potter and McKean Counties combined their talents recently to compete at the S.C.T.P. National Team Championships at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio. The nine youth shooters from Oswayo Valley’s Millport Rod and Gun Club and Otto-Eldred’s Eldred Conservation Club first got together for the Pa. State Championships taking first place and earning the right to compete at the National Event for the Scholastic Clay Trap Program.

The team of Mark Olmstead Jr, Corre Smith, Dakota Green, Garrett Stuck and Jacob Bell shot a 964 / 1000 to take the first place position in the Open Division of the National Event. Missing one squad member the four person team of Makenzy Glover, Austin Unverdorben, Dylan Woods and Stephen White put together an impressive score themselves finishing 81st out of 147 teams in the open division, with a little luck and a fifth team member we could very well of been celebrating two teams in the top ten.

Additionally, Corre Smith busted clay for the Pennsylvania All State Team (Top five shooters from the State event held in June at Elysburg, Pa.) which took runner up honors to The State of Ohio by a mere 3 points. These youth trap shooters have been dedicating themselves since the end of the high school league by competing in local ATA events held in Olean, Richburg and here locally at the Bradford Gun Club. Many thanks to all those who have supported our youth and this sport as we now celebrate our National Champs!!!
