Portion Of Mill Street In Port Allegany To Close July 10 Thru July 14th For RR Crossing Repairs

Port Allegany Borough has been working with the Western New York and Pennsylvania Railroad to coordinate repairs to the Mill Street Railroad Crossing.

Work to repair this crossing will be performed July 10 – 14, 2017. Mill Street will be closed from Pearl Street to the railroad crossing on the East side of the railroad tracks and from the intersection of Glass Place to the railroad crossing on the West side of the railroad tracks.

Westbound traffic on Mill Street should detour down Arnold Avenue to Glass Place and then back to Mill Street.

Eastbound Traffic on Mill Street should detour down Glass Place to Arnold Avenue and then back to Mill Street.

Truck traffic will either use the Arnold Avenue route to access Mill Street, or Liberty Township has authorized them to use Brooklyside Road during this temporary road closure.

In order to accommodate the increased truck traffic during this project, there will be no on street parking along West Arnold Avenue during the week of July 10 – 14, 2017.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation during this project.

Liberty township has allowed temporary use of Brooklynside. Where has Liberty township been the 42 ton semi's from ardagh have been using it for years. Our little 10 ton bridge is already getting damaged at each end of the bridge. Brooklynside road is going down hill fast, just look by the stop sign by the bridge the black top is breaking up from the trucks.

Its amazing that Liberty township and Mckean County allows people to dump garbage and junk in the yards. Now on Brooklynside there is a junk yard beside the road. But they still want our full taxes from the ones who take care of our property. Even tho we will never be able to sell our houses at the taxable value. Who in their right minds would want to buy property beside a garbage dump and a junk yard.
