UPDATE RELEASED ON SERIOUS CRASH ON RT 549
FNN Article Update (c) 2017

MANSFIELD, PA - Back on Saturday, August 5, 2017, FNN reported on a serious rollover crash that occured shortly after 10:00PM that evening in Richmond Township.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, Clint Smith of Mainesburg, received serious injuries in the single vehicle crash. Authorities reported that Smith was traveling south along Route 549 when his Chevrolet Blazer left the roadway, slid sideways through a field and returned to the highway where it overturned. Smith, who was not wearing a seatbelt was ejected from the vehicle. Smith suffered serious head trauma in the accident. He was flown by helicopter to Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, where he was placed in the Intensive Care Unit of that hospital. His passenger, Daniel Winiavski of Troy, PA., suffered a minor cut above his eye and he even declined treatment. It was noted by police that Winiavski was using his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Mansfield fire and ambulance crews responded to the scene and provided assistance to both patients.

FNN was told by friends of the family, that Smith was still listed in critical condition as of yesterday.

Prayers are still being requested for Clint Smith, his family and his friends, as well as, the passenger and all those involved or assisted with this crash.
