Today, Friday, Aug. 4 at noon, a ribbon-cutting ceremony was held to officially open the 66th Annual Woodsmen Show at Cherry Springs State Park at 4639 Cherry Springs Road in Coudersport. The Galeton Rotary Woodsmen Show is a three-day event held annually at the park, which is located near Galeton.

The ceremony took place at the entrance to the Woodsmen Show on the park's Astronomy Observation Field.

Paul Miller, Galeton Rotary Club president, gave a brief speech about the 66th Annual Woodsmen Show, thanking those who have made the show possible all these years and the dignitaries who participated in the ceremony. As the ribbon was cut, Miller welcomed everyone to the dark skies at the park.

Each of the five dignitaries was presented with a pair of scissors to cut the ribbon. They included Potter County Commissioner Susan Kefover; Scott Morgan, assistant manager of the Hills Creek State Park Complex, Pennsylvania Bureau of State Parks, a division of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR); Susan Paisley, aide to State Representative Martin Causer of the 67th Legislative District of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives; Galeton Borough Mayor Vincent Salvadge and Henry Lush, Galeton Rotary Club member emeritus.
