4 Missing Found Dead In Crashed Car

Four Jasper-area residents -- three teenagers and a 21-year-old man -- missing since Saturday were found dead Monday, the apparent victims of a car accident.

Jasper-Troupsburg School District Superintendent Chad Groff said the New York State Police found the bodies of the four -- ranging in age from 15 to 21 -- in a vehicle in Sugar Creek off state Route 248 about 3:05 p.m. Monday.

Dead are Joseph Lubberts, 21, a 2005 graduate of the school; seniors David Cady, 17, and Tiara O'Dell, 17; and freshman Jered Fry, 15.

Groff said the car in which the four were riding went off state Route 248 and struck a bridge abutment before landing in the creek. He said police do not know who was driving when the crash occurred. From Elmira Star Gazette.
