Police Reports Via WFRM

An 18 year old resident of Adelphoi Village in Harrison Township has been charged with harassment after allegedly assaulting a counselor Wednesday night. State police say the incident began when Lawrence Loveland confronted John Sheaffer about leaving an area of the building without permission. Sheaffer then, according to police “without provocation” grabbed Loveless by the throat and tried to gouge his left eye. Loveless was able to restrain Sheaffer with the assistance of several other counselors and he was sent back to his living quarters, after which police were summoned.


Troopers at Kane are investigating the theft of a red 1986 Honda 4 Wheeler belonging to Michael Petruzzi of Smethport from his residence at the intersection of Route 46 and Galico Crossing in Keating Township late last month. The machine has a black box, gun rack and plow mount and has Pennsylvania registration 3967C. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Kane Barracks at 778-5555. State police there are also probing a burglary at the home of Todd Grimes on Annin Creek Road Turtlepoint Wednesday between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. Intruders rummaged through a couple of drawers in a spare bedroom but apparently took nothing.

State police here are investigating a couple of recent criminal mischief incidents. Someone tampered with the phone line at the home of Matthew Hafer on Troupe Road, Coudersport Monday or Tuesday, disabling the phone service. And vandals smashed a mail box owned by Lynn Doane on the Fishing Creek Road in Roulette Township between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. Tuesday. Damage estimated to be about $50.

A Port Allegany man will be sentenced on November 29 after pleading guilty this week to retail theft. Ben Denning, 23, admitted takingmore than $230 worth of merchandise from the Bradford Wal-Mart this past April
