HOFFMAN, Margaret M. nee: Quackenbush of Westfield, PA
81, died Friday, December 14, 2007. Born April 15, 1926, in Ulysses, she was the daughter of Coral and Blanche Hopps Quackenbush. On March 11, 1949, in Tioga, she married Harry E. Hoffman, who survives. She was employed as an electronics inspector by GTI in Saegertown, PA, for 15 years. She was a member of the Brookfield United Methodist Church and the Knoxville Rebekahs, serving as a district deputy. Surviving besides her husband are nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert Quackenbush and Manley Quackenbush; and two sisters, Mildred Cratsley Smith and Nora Turner. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 19th, in the Brookfield United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Deborah Watkins and the Rev. Nettie Treat co-officiating. Burial will be in Brookfield Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Brookfield U.M. Church, c/o Donna Nudd, Treas., 3135 Potter Rd., Troupsburg, NY 14885. PORTVILLE - Larry B. Randolph, 79, of 84 Portville-Ceres Road, passed away on Friday (Dec. 14, 2007) in the Cuba Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility following a lengthy illness.

PORT ALLEGANY — Eugene M. Bressen, 55, of Port Allegany, died Thursday (Dec. 13, 2007) at his home. Hartle-Tarbox Funeral Homes Inc. is in charge of arrangements.

SMETHPORT — Robert Elliot Rogge, 85, of Smethport, passed away Friday (Dec. 14, 2007).

96, died Friday, December 14, 2007. Born September 20, 1911, in Mannington, WV, she was the daughter of James D. and Bertha Jane Toothman Jones. On February 19, 1932, in Fairview, WV, she married Addison Thorne, who predeceased her in 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of the Potter Brook Happy Hour Club. Surviving are: three sons, James (Crystle) Thorne of Middlebury Center, Arthur (Pat) Thorne of Westfield, and Aaron (Bessie) Thorne of Galeton; two daughters, Barbara (John) McNeill of Osceola, and Betty (David) Inghram of Hanes City, FL; seven grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; a sister, Bessie (Arthor) Stuckey of Knoxville; nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by three brothers. Friends may call Monday, December 17th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Olney Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Ulysses, where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Duane Burdick will officiate. Burial will be in Mills Cemetery.

SYKORA, Theodore R. "T.Bear"
62, of Galeton, PA, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2007, in Soldiers & Sailors Hospital, Wellsboro. Born May 4, 1945, in Wellsboro, he was the son of the late Theodore J. and Doris (Williams) Sykora. He was a graduate of Galeton High School. On January 7, 1972, in Galeton, he married the former Wendy Persing. Mr. Sykora was employed as a welder with Snyder Tank Corporation in Galeton for many years. He served with the National Guard, was a member of the Galeton Loyal Order of the Moose #826, the Gaines Game Feeders Club, and the Kettle Creek Sportsman's Club. Ted was an avid hunter and greatly enjoyed time spent at his hunting camp with his friends and family. He found his faith and hope in "God's Country" and lived his life with this quote in mind, "Live Well, Laugh Often, and Love Much". Surviving are his wife of 36 years, Wendy Sykora; his beloved children, Kevin (Valerie) Sykora and Janelle Sykora; one grandson, the joy of his life, Gavin Sykora; two brothers, David (Joyce) Sykora and Tim (Renee) Sykora; two sisters, Lana (Robert) Bennett and Lucille (Donald) Whitney; mother-in-law, Marjorie Persing; two sisters-in-law, Jackie Bosek of Galeton, and Carole (Pete) Stultz; one brother-in-law, Larry (Peggy) Persing; and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Collins Chapel, Galeton, PA, on Monday, December 17, 2007, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday, December 18, 2007, from 10:00-11:00 a.m. with funeral services following at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. David K. Shultz will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gale Hose Ambulance Association or to a sportsman's club of the donor's choice.
