Men Get ARD For DUI In Potter County Court

In recent Potter County Court Action, a couple of area residents were admitted to the ARD program on DUI and related charges.

William Furman, 22, of Genesee was arrested this past July 29 by Coudersport Borough Police when an officer observed him doing a powerbrake burnout in front of the patrol car as he left the Northwoods Tavern.

After being pulled over, Furman failed a field sobriety test. He was then taken to Charles Cole Hospital where chemical testing confirmed an alcohol level of .18%. The legal limit in Pennsylvania is .08%.

Patrick Allison, 49 of Austin was arrested on August 11 also by Coudersport Borough Police who observed his car crossing the center line and doing almost 41 mph in a 25 mile per hour zone near Peet Street. Allison denied he had been drinking but his BAC was found to be .13%.

According to District Attorney Dawn Fink, both me were ordered to refrain from using any illegal drugs or intoxicating beverages, pay all costs and fees, undergo Drug and Alcohol evaluation and follow through on recommended treatment; attend the DUI Victim Impact Panel Presentation. Each was ordered to surrender his drivers license, Allison for 30 days and Furman for 60.
