Arnold Gorg, 89, Galeton, PA

GORG, Arnold, 89, of Galeton, PA, died Thursday, April 17, 2008, at the Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital, Wellsboro.
Born March 17, 1919 in Yochum Hill, PA, he was the son of the late Fred and Heather "Hattie" (Gnau) Gorg. On December 14, 1947 in Galeton, he married the former Helen Steadman, who predeceased him in 2003.
Arnold was a dairy farmer in Yochum Hill and was a school bus driver for the Galeton School District, retiring in 1986. He was the maintenance man at the Redwood Village for many years after he retired. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Galeton, the Galeton Loyal Order of the Moose #826, and a social member of the Galeton VFW.
Surviving are a son, Clifford Gorg of Coudersport; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Meshula of Galeton, and Helen Lazorchak of Cross Fork, PA; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Arnold was predeceased by a son, four brothers and one sister.
Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Collins Chapel, Galeton, on Thursday, April 24, 2008, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Karl W. O. Runser, III will officiate. Interment will be in Yochum Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gale Hose Ambulance Association.
