Perry H. Gorg Sr.,79, Gaines, PA

GORG, Perry H., Sr.,79, of Gaines, PA, died Thursday, April 10, 2008, at the Charles Cole Memorial Hospital, Coudersport.

Born August 6, 1928 in Yochum Hill, PA, he was the son of the late Fred and Heather "Hattie" (Gnau) Gorg. In 1968, in Galeton, he married the former Pauline Cobb, who survives. Perry worked at the Westfield Tannery and Pure Carbon. He was a member of the Galeton Loyal Order of the Moose #826 for 42 years and held the Pilgrim's Degree.

Surviving, besides his wife, are sons, Perry H. (Patricia) Gorg, Jr. of Doylestown, PA, and Tye Pickett of Elkland, PA; daughters, Megan L. (Erwin) Hummel of Pennsburg, PA, and Beverly D. (Thomas) Jones of Pittsburg, TX; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; a brother, Arnold Gorg of Galeton; sisters, Irene Meshula of Galeton, and Helen Lazorchak of Cross Fork, PA; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends may call at the Hess Funeral Home and Cremation Service on Thursday, April 17, 2008, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Services following at 11:00 a.m. The Rev. Karl W. O. Runser, III will officiate. A Pilgrim Degree Moose Service will also be held at that time. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gale Hose Ambulance Association, the Goodyear Fire Company, or the American Cancer Society.
