WFRM Broadcast Live From Marathon Finish Line

The 34th annual God’s County Marathon, sponsored by the Potter County Visitors Association will take place Saturday on Route 6 between Coudersport and Galeton.

The runners will step off at the Galeton High School at 8:00 a.m. and the first ones to cross the finish line in the Courthouse Square will arrive about two and half hours later.

Kim Mitchell, Race Director, told WFRM that as of yesterday 168 runners had registered, an increase of about 23% over last year. She also reports the response has been good this year for people to operate water stations. The goal is to have one for every mile of the 26 mile plus marathon and as of today, they are only short two.

Anyone interested in setting up a water station may call Mitchell at 274-7177 or the PCVA office at 274-3365.

WFRM will be broadcasting live from the finish line beginning at about 10:00 a.m. Saturday.
