Bruce's Blog--Day 39--Blessings From Above

Oh, how the days are flying! We just arrived in Peoria, Illinois pretty late. We’re trying to relax, reminisce, and sit down and talk for once. Believe it or not, we have to be really focused on our goal so that we are able to do what we pledge to do.

As Tim was taking me back out to the spot at which I left off this morning, I had a lot of time to reflect. One of the thoughts that continued to roll through my mind was how quickly this “journey across the nation” will end, but how the need and the work to be done will not.

All of my life will be a journey, and it is my dream that there will be positive change in the world. Just like out here, you never know what is around the next corner. We know that God’s in control and that He has plans for all of us, but we need to step out on that leap of faith and take the action, take that risk.

Today was specially unique because I prayed that I would be able to continue running/biking and for the strength to do so. We were confronted with thunderstorms all day long, and I was always heading in their direction. Nonetheless, they kept moving away from me.

Also, each morning I wake up, my knees tend to ache. There is no way that without His strength that I could continue on because twenty miles of running alone every day is a lot of pounding.

I want to thank all of you for your thoughts and your prayers. We have been very blessed on this journey with strength, good health, being able to share the “Good News,” and fellowship.

We’re going to continue on strong with our mission, and that is to serve. May God bless you! We’ll see you tomorrow!
