Letter To Matt From Mom And Dad

This is a letter to Matt Baker following his death.
7/13/08

Matt,
You have touched so many peoples lives in so many wonderful ways, anyone who knew you will never forget you. You are such a special person.

We will never see your smile again.
We will never see you laugh again.
We will never see you hold your son again.
We will never see you play with Koda again.
We will never see you walk hand in hand with your son again.
We will never see you walking into our house again.
We will never see you at family gatherings again.
We will never hear you say hi Mom or Dad again.
We will never be able to help you with your problems again.
We will never see you drive by and wave again.
We will never be able to tell you goodbye again.
We will never see you on the computer again.
We can not even invite you to supper again.
There are so many things we will never be able to share again.
We will never be able to talk to you again.
We will never be able to hug you again.
You have no idea the pain and grief you have left us with, but we love you so much and never took the time to tell you.
We hope you can look down on us and guide us when we need help with Dezmond.
We love you,
Mom and Dad

Donna and Bill...

I can't begin to imagine the pain you two are feeling.
I am so sorry for your loss.

I don't know if it is any comfort or not, but I will be praying for you both through this struggle.

Dear God,
Please heal these parents hurt. Wrap your arms around them and bring them peace and comfort.

YOU, God, are good, despite how broken and torn up this world is. We trust that You will bring healing to their hurt. Show them that You do love them, and You want to work good in their lives. Show them that they matter to You, and bring them a peace they can't understand or explain.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

Donna and Bill, my prayers for you will continue.
Again, I am so sorry for your loss, and if there is anything I can do, please email me.

Bill (Pepper) and Donna,
Matt will forever be in our hearts...I can remember all the times when I would be at your house having dinner with you and Matt, or when he and I would race our bikes up and down the hill.... boy he could always beat me, or just playing with trucks in the feild between our houses. These are times that I will always treasure now. You would never think that these little things would be some of the best memories of your childhood. This has been such a tragedy. You will be in my prayers.

It is such a sad thing.. but I really feel bad for the mother. There could have been some other way to deal with his anger.

My heart breaks for my family. Dinger is the cousin I was closest to. To my Aunt Donna and my Uncle Bill, I love you very much and you are in my prayers.
