Mills Driver Injured/ Facing DUI Charges

A Mills driver almost made it home safely early Saturday morning but is now facing DUI charges for a crash in which he received major injuries.

State police here say 24 year old Allen Mowrey was speeding south when the right side tires on his Jeep Pioneer went off the road for about 120feet. Mowrey steered abruptly to the left causing the Jeep to come back onto the road and cross to the other side. Mowrey then tried to counter steer and sent the vehicle into a yaw which continued as it traveled across the southbound lane, struck an embankment and rolled over coming to rest on the highway.

Mowrey was ejected from the vehicle, but righted the vehicle and drove it about 250 feet into the driveway at his residence on Marsh Creek Road.

He was taken to Charles Cole Hospital by private vehicle for treatment of his injuries and police say when they interviewed him, they found he had been driving under the influence of alcohol. He is also facing numerous summary traffic charges as well.
