A 19 year old Harrison Valley resident has been charged with statutory sexual assault for an incident allegedly occurring October 1 in Harrison Township. State police claim Dustin Cook had a sexual encounter with a 14 year old girl that night at a residence on Whites Corners Road. Cook was released on $20,000 unsecured bail after being arraigned before on-call District Judge Annette Easton on charges of statutory sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, corruption of minors and selling or furnishing alcoholic beverages to minors.

A Shinglehouse teen is being charged with failing to drive at a safe speed and failing to use a seatbelt following a one-vehicle crash Saturday evening on the Dug Road just north of Canada Hollow Road in Sharon Township. Troopers said the 17 year old boy suffered moderate injuries when his 2001 Pontiac Sunfire went off the road, hit several trees and overturned before coming to rest. He was taken to Charles Cole Hospital by Shinglehouse volunteer ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries.

One driver is being cited for DUI following a collision early Sunday morning on Route 346 in Otto Township, McKean County. State police said Matthew Leese of Olean backed his Chevy S-10 out of a private driveway into the path of a Chevy Malibu operated by Kara Towner of Eldred. During the course of the investigation, troopers say they determined Towner to be driving under the influence of alcohol.

An Eldred woman has been cited for simple assault and harassment for a domestic violence incident taking place Friday evening at a residence on Indian Creek Road. Troopers claim 38 year old Lainie Kepahrt hit her stepson, 18 year old Michael Kephart in the face, causing scratches on his neck and check while they argued. The accused was released on $5,000 unsecured bail after being arraigned before on-call District Judge Rich Luther.

State police here are looking for the person or persons who threw a pumpkin at a passing vehicle Friday night between 6:30 and 7:00 p.m. on Route 449 in Genesee Township. The pumpkin caused $800 in damage to windshield of a Northbound 2008 Pontiac G5 driven by Amanda Easton of Genesee. She escaped injury. The offending vehicle was headed south at the time of the incident.

Troopers are also probing a burglary at a Summit Township home between 8:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. last Thursday. Thieves entered the home of Andrew Chapell on Predmore Road through an unlocked door and stole $250 in US currency and some $600 in coins which had been stored in a plastic 5 gallon Culligan water jug.

And, thieves took a 15 foot 3/8 inch link chain from a wooden trailer owned by Lewis Eccher of Coudersport while it was parked at his residence on Townline Road in Eulalia Township overnight Friday.. Anyone with information about any of those incidents is asked to call the local barracks at 274-8690.
